About Us
Care, partnership, and lasting change
To help deliver care to Guatemalan people and minimize disparities in surgical care between low-income and high-income countries.
Our story
Aid Via Action was founded in April 2021 to confront a stark reality: a person's access to safe surgery should not depend on where they were born. We focus on strengthening resources at hospital sites in Northern Guatemala so that local physicians can provide competent, compassionate care.
We are a registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit, guided by a dedicated board of directors. Donations are tax-deductible under IRC Section 170. Above all, we work in partnership — building relationships rather than promoting medical tourism.
How we make a difference
Our work focuses on two pillars that reinforce each other.
Medical Support
- Donate operating-room equipment, beginning with laparoscopic tools.
- Provide surgical and anesthesiology expertise plus support staff for specialized operations.
Educational Partnerships
- Send U.S. medical students and residents to Guatemala.
- Host Guatemalan students in the United States.
- Develop outreach initiatives for Guatemalan healthcare career pathways.
